Christmas...

Dear friends and family,

Another year has come and gone.  I can't believe it's already December and AnnaLee is now 6 months old.  She smiles, coos, and giggles too.  We are so delighted to have her in our lives.  What an abundant blessing she is to us!

As our time at Horn Creek came to an end, we said good-bye to dear friends and made our way to Missouri; on September 10th we arrived with a big U-Haul.  Within just a few days we were settled and feeling "at home" with Elaine's family.  A Driskell-sibling vacation in Branson, MO was a wonderful time to reunite and enjoy one another.  Shortly after, we were welcomed by an open-house/baby shower... it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces.

From October 12th through December 11th we spent time with the Purdy family in Kansas. It was a precious time for all!  Their time with AnnaLee was particularly treasured.

Elaine finished her semester of online courses while in Kansas, and is now officially a senior at the University of Central Missouri.  She'll be starting classes on campus January 10th.  Only a few more semesters to go!

We cherish you all and pray you are doing well! You are a blessing to us. Best wishes this coming year!

In HIS love,
The Purdy Family

A New Chapter...

Goodness... how time flies! I haven't made a post since July!

Life is starting to slow down since we have made the move to Missouri.  The transition has gone well.  We settled quickly into our room in my parents home.  It feels as cozy as can be.  I still wake up sometimes and have to remind myself that it is real.  I often think that we are just on vacation, visiting, even though it has almost been two weeks now.

My family enjoys having AnnaLee around.  She is growing so much.  I think she is 11 pounds now; we'll find out for sure on Monday.  She loves to "talk" and study her hands right now.  She is the smiliest baby I've ever known.

David and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary on Monday... we are blessed and excited about this new chapter!  Looking forward to what the Lord brings in the next 5!

Visitors...

We have a little less than 7 weeks left here at Horn Creek.

Our family and friends are squeezing in there last visits to the mountains.  David is hiking as many mountains as he can (this weekend he will be tackling the Maroon Bells).  We savor the cool air and crisp breezes.  We try to have family time in the hammock as often as possible.  ....and star gazing in the meadow makes me a little sad.

Purge...

Today we continue downsizing our "stuff" and prepare for the "school-parking-lot" sale we are participating in tomorrow.  We are joining 2 other Horn Creek families that are also leaving this fall.  It is so refreshing to go through everything and get rid of what we do not use or need.

I encourage you to go through your closets, dig in the boxes you have stuffed in the garage, or brave the darkness underneath your beds and PURGE!  You'll be glad you did.  The killer dust bunnies won't stand a chance!

Bare Walls...

The walls in my house are mostly bare.  We have already begun the packing process, which makes this whole thing seem real.  In approximately 9 weeks we will be moving to Missouri.  Leaving the only home we have known since we met.  Horn Creek has been a place of great significance to both David and I.  The Lord used this place to bring us together.  Although Horn Creek holds countless memories for us... I am learning to accept the fact that we must continue to move forward and anticipate the new memories to come.

The Beginning of Something New...

Hello friends and family,

I felt led and inspired to create a blog; to be used as a tool to keep you informed on what God is doing in our lives.  Why now?  We are nearing the end of this current season and will be embarking on our new adventure in about 9 weeks.  Transition and change are never easy... nor do they happen as smoothly as we'd like.  Nevertheless, God is going before us and, as always, has the best for us.  We are excited to see what He does!
